Familiar — Tarot MCP Server

Overview

Familiar is a tarot MCP server for compatible AI clients such as Claude. This policy explains what data may be sent to Familiar when the client calls its tools, why that data is used, and how we protect it.

Data We Collect

MCP Tool Requests

When an AI client calls Familiar, the request may include the tool name, tool arguments, card draw or spread configuration, your question, and any conversation context the client chooses to send. This is used to return card data and reading context.

Connection Information

Hosted deployments may receive basic technical information such as timestamps, request status, and error logs needed to keep the MCP server reliable and secure.

Account or Billing Information

If a hosted plan, account, or paid feature is offered, we may receive the minimum information needed to provide access. Payment details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by Familiar.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • Location data
  • Contacts or photos
  • Device identifiers for advertising
  • Advertising profiles or cross-site tracking data

Third-Party Services

We rely on the following services:

  • AI client providers — clients such as Claude may process your prompts, tool calls, and conversation context under their own terms
  • Hosting and database providers — infrastructure used to run Familiar and store operational data
  • Payment providers — used only if paid hosted features are offered

Each service is governed by its own privacy policy. We do not sell or share your data with any other third parties.

Data Storage & Security

Hosted service data is protected with standard application security practices, including HTTPS for network communication. We keep operational data only as long as needed to provide, debug, and secure the service.

Your Rights

You can:

  • Request access to or deletion of account-related data, if an account exists
  • Control what context you send to Familiar through your AI client
  • Disconnect or stop using the MCP server at any time

Children's Privacy

Familiar is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
